About The Position

People Creating Success (PCS) is seeking compassionate individuals to join their team as Direct Support Professionals in Ventura County. This role involves empowering adults with developmental disabilities to achieve independence and participate in life goals. The position is ideal for someone who values genuine relationships, enjoys being a cheerleader for others, and wants to make a positive impact. PCS has been a leader in providing services for adults with developmental disabilities for over 20 years, with a mission to help individuals pursue career, educational, and life goals.

Requirements

• Someone who is compassionate with a person-centered mindset
• Someone who has a warm, respectful, and professional demeanor
• Someone who is capable of communication with dignity and respect, especially during challenging moments
• A valid driver’s license
• Responsible, and can document goal progress tracking with detail
• Weekend Availability (Is a plus but not required)

Nice To Haves

• DSP 1 & 2 certification (preferred, applicants who are not yet certified can take advantage of our internal certification programs)
• CPR / First Aid certification (Training will be provided if applicants are not certified or need to be recertified)

Responsibilities

• Assist participants with living independently
• Support participants with daily living skills such as cleaning, cooking, budget management, and light household duties
• Assist with traveling to doctors appointments
• Following care plans and helping participants achieve their personal goals
• Encourage healthy habits, studies, hobbies, and social activities
• Assist with personal care such as medication support, hygiene and bathing (lifting / transferring may be required)
• Collaborate Person-Centered Care planning with participant, staff and management
• Document shift and communication logs
