Direct Support Professional DJ-CS
About The Position
1:1 Part-Time Support Staff Needed – Inner city of Syracuse (DJ– CS). This role involves assisting a 71-year-old female in Syracuse with various activities. Key responsibilities include teaching positive communication skills and helping her identify and respond to safety issues. She enjoys socializing, reminiscing about family memories, shopping for jewelry, clothes, and shoes. She has hearing aids but prefers not to wear them. The individual is described as kid-hearted and enjoys good company. The ideal candidate must be patient, as she has difficulty with outings due to a previous fall. Proactiveness in preparing for outings and assisting with transitions is essential. This is a part-time position, with potential for additional hours with other clients. The schedule is primarily Tuesdays, with hours from 9 AM to 1 PM or 9 AM to 2 PM, up to 30 hours per week.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community.
- Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills.
- New York State Driver's license.
- Reliable transportation.
- Proof of auto insurance.
- Acceptable driving record.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.

- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.

Nice To Haves
- No experience required but experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
Responsibilities

Benefits
- Starting pay: CH1 $19.25/hour and increases with years of relevant experience.
