Direct Support Professional DJ-MS
About The Position
1:1 Part-Time Support Staff Needed – Inner city of Syracuse (DJ– MS). A 19-year-old male in the inner city of Syracuse is looking for a Direct Support Professional to assist him in learning skills for independent living and positive communication. He enjoys video games, scary movies, watching YouTube, and visiting the mall to eat and explore anime stores. The ideal candidate needs patience, as he sometimes has difficulty controlling outbursts. The candidate should also be skilled at facilitating conversations and willing to assist with services as directed. This is a part-time position, with potential for additional hours supporting other individuals at the agency. Start time and hours are flexible, up to 20 hours per week. Starting pay is $19.25/hour (CH1), with increases based on relevant experience. Location: Syracuse, NY.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community.
- Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills.
- New York State Driver's license.
- Reliable transportation.
- Proof of auto insurance.
- Acceptable driving record.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.
- Effective communication and organizational skills required.
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
Nice To Haves
- No experience required but experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
