Direct Support Professional / Weekend Double
About The Position
Merakey is seeking mission-driven, compassionate, and reliable Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role helps individuals build independence, develop social and communication skills, and navigate daily living activities, including personal care, housekeeping, and community engagement. No experience is required; paid training is provided. The position is located in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, with a weekend double schedule on Saturday and Sunday. The pay rate is $16.25 per hour, with an enhanced-pay option of up to $18.25 per hour.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- A valid driver's license is required.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Related experience is helpful; no experience is required, and paid training is provided.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
- Support life skills development, including household tasks and social skills.
- Provide community support and transportation.
- Promote health, safety, and well-being, including medication support as trained.
- Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service logs.
- Support individuals in developing independence and social and communication skills.
- Act as a mentor, coach, and advocate while supporting individuals’ personal goals.
