About The Position

Merakey is hiring a compassionate, reliable Direct Support Professional to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania. The role involves helping people build independence, develop social and communication skills, and manage daily living activities. No experience is required; paid training is provided. The listed pay rate is $16.25 per hour, with the opportunity to earn up to $18.25 per hour through the Enhanced Pay option. The available schedule is a weekend double shift on Saturday and Sunday.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
• Support life-skills development, including household tasks and social skills.
• Provide community support and transportation.
• Promote health, safety, and well-being, including medication support after training.
• Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service logs.
• Help individuals develop independence and social and communication skills, and work toward personal goals.
• Act as a mentor, coach, and advocate.
