About The Position

Indera is seeking a Direct Support Professional to work in the Utica/Rome area with a young man who requires assistance due to a developmental delay. The individual is looking for a dedicated staff to provide him with support and assist him with maintaining his independence both at home and in community settings. Responsibilities include going out into the community to activities of interest to him. We are looking for an individual who is reliable, patient, energetic and enthusiastic. Prior experience is a plus but not required. Reliable transportation and an HS diploma/GED are required. Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency. Work hours will vary based on the individuals’ schedule and communication between staff and individual is extremely important. The pay rate is $25 per hour. This is a part-time position for hours up to around 8.75 per week depending on interests of individual. Indera is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation.
• Effective communication skills.
• Organizational skills.
• Flexibility with assignments and schedule.
• Technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.
• Abide by ARISE/EFR's technology policy.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience is a plus.
• Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
