About The Position
The Direct Support Professional – Residential provides direct care, supervision, and support to individuals in a residential setting. The role helps residents develop independence in activities of daily living while ensuring their health, safety, and overall well-being. The position is based in Broome County and offers all shifts, including evenings, overnight, weekends, and holidays as needed. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid New York State driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier.
- Ability to lift and assist with up to 50 pounds, including transfers and physical support.

- Experience working in human services or with individuals with functional differences.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, hygiene, and toileting.
- Support development of independent living skills such as cooking, housekeeping, laundry, and shopping.
- Support money management skills, including budgeting and making appropriate purchases.
- Administer medications and complete required documentation in accordance with agency policy.
- Transport and accompany residents to medical appointments, recreational activities, and community outings.
- Assist with daily household operations and maintain a clean, organized living environment.
- Participate in assessments, service planning, and team meetings.
- Communicate resident health, safety, and behavioral concerns to supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations, including Part 633 and Part 624.
- Attend required training and meetings and stay up to date on communications.
- Maintain reliable attendance and support staffing needs as required.
