Direct Support Professional – Residential
About The Position
The Direct Support Professional – Residential assists people supported by The Center for Disability Services in daily treatment, care, and services while promoting independence and respecting each person's choices, lifestyle, dignity, and right to take informed risks. The role participates in planning, implementation, and interdisciplinary teams and helps deliver personalized habilitation services described in each person's care plan. Openings are available at multiple locations throughout the Capital Region. Pay is commensurate with experience, residential program acuity, shift differentials, and completion of additional trainings.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds to apply.
Nice To Haves
- One year of related experience preferred.
- Evening and overnight availability is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the person's planning, implementation, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Assist, promote, and provide independence in the daily treatment, care, and services of the people supported, while respecting their choices, lifestyle, dignity, and right to take informed risks.
- Help implement personalized habilitation services outlined in each person's personalized care plan.
- Assist people supported in acquiring skills, including basic activities of daily living, self-care, and household management.
