About The Position

The Direct Support Professional assists individuals with developmental disabilities in acquiring, retaining, or improving self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills. The role provides individualized support and services that promote independence, productivity, and integration. Services are guided by each individual’s Life Plan, IPOP, or ISP and include daily living support, development of life and community skills, health and safety supports, transportation, and accurate documentation. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday during the day, with openings in Oneida, New York. Pay is $20.00. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid New York State driver’s license and a driving record that meets the requirements of the employer’s liability/automotive insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized care and daily living support based on each person’s Life Plan, IPOP, or ISP while promoting independence.
• Help individuals pursue personal goals, participate in meaningful activities, build life and social skills, participate in the community, and develop natural supports.
• Support individuals’ health and safety, including trained First Aid, CPR, medication administration, and SCIP-R interventions.
• Transport individuals safely to programs, activities, and community locations.
• Complete service notes and reports, protect confidentiality, and follow agency policies and program standards.
