About The Position
The Direct Support Professional provides individualized support to people with developmental disabilities in a self-directed setting. The role helps individuals build and maintain daily living, social, and adaptive skills while working toward personal goals, greater independence, community integration, and an enhanced quality of life. The schedule is per diem based on individuals’ needs, with a wage of $18 and up. The position is located in Madison County.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid New York State driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support in accordance with each person’s service plan, preferences, needs, and personal goals.
- Promote independence and skill development by assisting individuals with daily living, self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills.
- Support personal and community-based goals that encourage independence, productivity, meaningful participation, and community integration.
- Provide safe transportation and First Aid/CPR support as requested by the Self-Directed participant.
- Complete required documentation accurately and on time, including EVV requirements, monthly summaries, mileage records, reimbursement submissions, and other required reports.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism, comply with agency policies and procedures, and attend required meetings and trainings.
