About The Position

Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join their team in Sacramento, CA. DSPs interact with and support individuals with developmental disabilities in various settings, including community, family homes, and adult training facilities. The role involves assisting with direct care and implementing behavior plans to enhance the health, safety, dignity, and contentment of consumers by aiding and training them in personal care, communication, and social skill development.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Certification-Registered Behavior Technician or licensed psychiatric technician; or become a registered behavior technician within twelve months of initial employment.
• 6 months experience working with IDD/MH population or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid driver’s license, if required
• Ability to read, speak, write and comprehend the English language
• Must have desire to help others reach their fullest potential
• Completes PPD testing and Physical Examination upon hire and minimally every 2 years thereafter, if required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed
• Ability to model, teach, and encourage socially-acceptable behaviors as needed
