Direct support professionals (DSPs) make a difference by assisting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with their daily needs and activities. This role offers the opportunity to help residents reach their greatest level of independence. DSPs are involved in community activities, providing training and assistance. Requirements

• Must be able to read and write with good comprehension.
• Must have genuine interest in working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Demonstrate patience and good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with their daily needs and activities.
• Assist with routine daily activities in a group home setting.
• Help residents with dining, mobility, and hygiene activities.
• Accompany residents to run errands.
• Accompany residents to special community occasions and fun activities like outdoor walks, games, and social events.
• Sit down to talk and connect with residents.
