About The Position

Community Options, Inc., a national nonprofit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 11 states, is hiring part-time Weekend Warrior Direct Support Professionals in Rutherford County / Smyrna, Tennessee. The role provides person-centered care tailored to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. No experience is required; paid training is provided. Starting pay is $16.68 per hour, provided the employee works a total of 24 hours during the weekend. Available shifts are Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, or Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports.
Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations.
Successful completion of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing checks is required as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Assist with daily routines, including cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and personal hygiene.
Monitor individuals’ health and medical needs and immediately report concerns.
Assist individuals in learning and developing independent and community-based skills.
Participate with individuals in community, social, and recreational activities.
Drive individuals to medical appointments and community activities.
Complete program documentation and billable records accurately and on time.
Build a support network for individuals by developing and maintaining relationships with community members, businesses, and families.
Cooperate with licensing and department staff during inspections, inquiries, or investigations.
Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
