About The Position
We are seeking compassionate and dynamic Direct Support Professionals to support a 53-year-old individual in Syracuse, NY. This role focuses on participating in community life. This individual enjoys going to the grocery store and visiting the library to get on the computer or to check out books and DVDs. This ideal candidate is patient, engaging, and willing to travel to his ideal places. This candidate should be willing to visit the library, go grocery shopping, and be able to deal with his mood swings. This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services at the agency.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community.
- Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills.
- New York State Driver's license.
- Reliable transportation.
- Proof of auto insurance.
- Acceptable driving record.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.

- Experience working with people with disabilities.
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Support an individual in participating in community life.
