Direct Support Professional - Overnight
About The Position
Learning Services, a Collage Rehabilitation Partner, provides neurological rehabilitation to adults with moderate to severe traumatic and acquired brain injuries. Its programs address needs including post-concussion syndrome, stroke, memory loss, neurobehavioral issues, and accident- or sports-related head injuries. The Direct Support Professional works full-time overnight in the organization's residential program in Escondido, California. The role provides varying levels of assistance and supervision to help clients succeed in daily living tasks, recreational activities, and vocational pursuits. The position also involves supporting clients with personal care, hygiene, and therapies, and driving or accompanying them to appointments, activities, and other outings. Candidates should be comfortable working with clients who have varied medical complexities and behavioral challenges.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license and responsible driving behaviors must be maintained.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Comfort working with a variety of medically complicated and behaviorally challenged clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance and supervision to promote clients’ success in daily living tasks, recreational activities, and vocational pursuits.
- Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
- Assist clients with therapies.
- Drive and accompany clients to appointments, activities, and other outings.
