About The Position

A Direct Support Professional (DSP), also known as a Residential Assistant, Caregiver, Home Health Aide, or CNA, supports individuals with daily living, personal care, transportation, and behavioral and social needs. The role includes light housework such as cooking, meal preparation, and cleaning; helping maintain personal care and hygiene routines; and providing transportation to appointments and activities. The position may involve responding to physical or verbal outbursts or aggression.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and two consecutive years of driving experience.
• Fewer than three moving violations within the past 36 months.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background, physical, TB, and drug screenings.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

• Cook, prepare meals, and perform light cleaning and other housework.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene routines, including feeding, medication administration, bathing, showering, and toileting.
• Provide transportation to doctor’s appointments, outside activities, and excursions.
• Provide behavioral and social support, including working with potential physical or verbal outbursts or aggression.
