About The Position

Direct Support Professionals provide compassionate, person-centered support to individuals with intellectual, developmental, and emotional disabilities, helping them live more independent and fulfilling lives at home and in their communities. The role involves supporting daily living, encouraging independence, celebrating achievements, and building meaningful relationships while working with a supportive team.

Flexible full-time and part-time schedules are available for first shift, second shift, and combinations of those shifts. Weekend availability is required. The advertised pay rate is $21.50–$22.50 per hour, with an additional $1.00 per hour weekend differential. Full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week are eligible for the listed outstanding benefits; a separate set of benefits and development opportunities is listed for part-time employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift 25–50 pounds, with assistance or lifting devices as needed.
• Ability to bend, kneel, squat, push, and pull throughout the workday.
• Compassionate, dependable, and patient attitude.
• Genuine desire to help others succeed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Prepare meals and support dietary needs.
• Help with household tasks and errands.
• Transport and accompany individuals to appointments and community activities.
• Administer medications and treatments according to policy.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and community involvement.
• Build positive relationships with individuals, families, and coworkers.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow individualized care plans.
• Promote a safe, healthy, and respectful living environment.
• Participate in required training and professional development.
