About The Position

Project Genesis, Inc., a Connecticut nonprofit, is hiring a part-time Companion/Caregiver/Direct Support Professional to provide non-medical support to adults with acquired brain injuries. The role helps individuals live more independently, build confidence, participate in their communities, and achieve personal goals. No healthcare experience is required; paid orientation, training, certification, and ongoing support are provided. The position is described as part-time and per diem, with second-shift hours from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and immediate openings.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Have a valid driver's license.
• Have a reliable vehicle with insurance.
• Have a clean driving record for at least three years.
• Be willing to travel within the assigned service area.
• Demonstrate compassion, patience, and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation and light household tasks.
• Support personal care and daily living activities.
• Encourage community participation and social engagement.
• Help individuals build confidence and independence.
• Assist with budgeting and financial management.
• Maintain documentation and follow individualized care plans.
