About The Position
Advancing Opportunities, an affiliate of Apis Services, empowers individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities to achieve full participation in society. Our mission is to help residents gain independence, life skills, and confidence in a safe and supportive environment. We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Sub Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) at our Hopewell location. In this role, you will provide guidance, mentorship, and hands-on support to residents while helping them develop the skills needed for greater independence.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- 20 years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Consent to state and federal criminal background checks
- Drug screen, pre-employment physical, and PPD
- Completion of all required orientation and pre-service training
Responsibilities
- Support residents with daily living skills, including cooking, housekeeping, shopping, budgeting, and healthy routines
- Assist with personal care, hygiene, and basic medical needs
- Promote social skills, coping strategies, and community involvement
- Mentor residents in building friendships and increasing autonomy
- Ensure a safe, structured, and nurturing environment
