About The Position
Advancing Opportunities, Inc. is seeking compassionate professionals to join their team as Direct Support Professionals (DSP). Requirements
- Must be at least 20 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in a related field is a plus.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain).
- Ability to pass: State and Federal criminal background checks, Drug screening, Pre-employment physical and PPD
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in direct support, caregiving, or a related field preferred.
- Interested in healthcare, human services, psychology, education, nursing, social work, or caregiving
Responsibilities
- Assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene
- Preparing meals and assisting with feeding when necessary
- Supporting daily living skills and independence
- Helping individuals participate in community activities, appointments, and social events
- Providing companionship, encouragement, and emotional support
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment
- Following individualized support plans and goals
- Promoting dignity, respect, and person-centered care
