Direct Support Professional - PRN
About The Position
Learning Services, a Collage Rehabilitation Partner, provides neurological rehabilitation to adults with moderate to severe traumatic and acquired brain injuries. The organization has developed programs for more than 35 years to address needs including post-concussion syndrome, stroke, memory loss, neurobehavioral issues, and accident- or sports-related head injuries. The PRN Direct Support Professional works in the residential program in Escondido, California. The role provides varying levels of assistance and supervision to help clients succeed in daily living tasks, recreational activities, and vocational pursuits. It includes assisting with personal care and hygiene, therapies, and transportation to appointments, activities, and other outings. The position involves supporting clients with a range of medical complexities and behavioral challenges. The hourly rate is $21–$24, based on experience and education.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license and responsible driving behaviors must be maintained.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Comfort working with medically complicated and behaviorally challenged clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance and/or supervision to support clients' daily living tasks, recreational activities, and vocational pursuits.
- Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
- Assist clients with therapies.
- Drive and accompany clients to appointments, activities, and other outings.
