About The Position
Our In-Home Support Specialists are committed to facilitate, model, and build skills that will lead to the optimal independence of the people we support. This role involves assisting individuals with daily activities, personal care, community involvement, and supporting therapeutic plans. The position requires a positive work ethic, the ability to work with limited supervision, and a commitment to advocating for and protecting participants' rights with respect and dignity.
Requirements
- Must have the ability to mentor and assist people in all areas of life skills including recreation, independence, communication, and health
- Valid driver’s license required.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Applicants must possess basic computer aptitude and be able to speak/write in English.
- Possesses a valid driver’s license, privately owned vehicle, and evidence of insurance.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience working with people who have developmental and physical disabilities preferred.
Responsibilities
- Daily activities such as meal preparation and planning
- Personal care
- Facilitating community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings in the community
- Providing transportation to recreational and community activities
- Supporting therapeutic and behavioral plans
