Direct Support Professional (Master's Degree Required)
About The Position
Action Behavior Centers hires caring people to help children with autism build communication, social, and independent skills. The Direct Support Professional works one-on-one with children ages 18 months to 8 years using play-based ABA therapy. The role follows personalized treatment plans, collects simple session data, and uses play, movement, reading, games, and hands-on activities to help children learn. The position involves staying active and engaged throughout sessions and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment while collaborating with a supportive team. This is a full-time position with guaranteed hours and a Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. schedule. Optional Saturdays may be available based on patient needs. Paid training is provided, and the company covers the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification. Applicants must provide proof of a master's degree before an employment offer can be extended.
Requirements
- Master's degree required; proof of the degree must be provided during the hiring process.
- At least 18 years old.
- Bachelor's degree listed in the job requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Comfort sitting, standing, crouching, and getting on and off the floor frequently.
- Ability to maintain an active pace while working with young children.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Willingness to complete paid RBT certification within 20 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Childcare experience, such as nanny, babysitter, preschool teacher, camp counselor, or tutor.
- Mental health experience, such as QMHP or behavioral health technician work.
- Experience as a paraprofessional, caregiver, or life skills assistant.
- A degree in Psychology, Child Development, or Health Sciences.
- Previous ABA experience.
Responsibilities
