Direct Support Professional (Master's Degree Required)
About The Position
Action Behavior Centers hires caring people to help children with autism build communication, social, and independent skills. In this full-time role, you will work one-on-one with children ages 18 months to 8 years using play-based ABA therapy. The position is based in Glendale, Arizona, and offers a Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. schedule, with optional Saturdays available based on patient needs. No prior experience is necessary; paid training and full coverage of the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification are provided. Applicants must provide proof of a master's degree, and an employment offer will not be extended until educational qualifications have been verified.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- A master's degree is required; applicants must provide a diploma or official transcript showing the degree awarded.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Comfortable sitting, standing, crouching, and frequently getting on and off the floor.
- Able to maintain an active pace while working with young children.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Willingness to complete paid RBT certification within 20 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Childcare experience, such as nanny, babysitter, preschool teacher, camp counselor, or tutor.
- Mental health experience, such as QMHP or behavioral health technician work.
- Experience as a paraprofessional, caregiver, or life skills assistant.
- A background or degree in psychology, child development, or health sciences.
Responsibilities
- Follow personalized treatment plans and collect simple session data.
- Help children learn through play, movement, reading, games, and hands-on activities.
- Stay active and engaged throughout therapy sessions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment.
- Collaborate with a supportive team focused on helping children grow and succeed.
- Occasionally help support a nearby ABC clinic if additional coverage is needed.
