A woman in the Warners/Baldwinsville area is seeking a 1:1 support staff (DSP/Direct Support Professional) to join her team, working up to 35 hours/week, though the hours can be shared between several staff. She is looking for dedicated support staff to provide ongoing support and assistance working on her goals at home, in community, and in volunteer settings. She volunteers with a local agency at least once per week and relies on staff support to attend the meetings. Staff will be trained in using and driving her accessible van. In addition to her volunteer work, she enjoys hosting friends and family at her home, shopping, decorating her home, and gardening. She would love to expand her social circle with the support of her staff and participate in local social and rec groups. Mentors will provide physical assistance with personal hygiene, maintaining her home, shopping, meal preparation, and transportation. Paid training will be provided, as well as paid shadowing with existing staff. The ideal candidate must be reliable, patient, fun, and enthusiastic. Related experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required. Please respond with a resume or summary of related experience. Hours and days of work (multiple people can be hired to fill the hours) Sunday 9am-3pm (assist with personal care and laundry) Monday 10am-4pm (provide transportation and support at volunteer position) Tuesday 1pm-4pm Wednesday 12:15pm-4:45pm (provide transportation and support at volunteer position) Thursday 1pm-4pm (support to attend zoom meetings for her volunteer position) Friday 9am-3pm (assist with personal care, zoom meetings, volunteer position) Saturday 9am-3pm (assist with personal care and with volunteer position) This is a part-time position, but there may be additional opportunities available for more hours with other individuals at the agency. Pay rate: $21 per hour while providing direct support. The hourly rate for indirect/training is $16.00 per hour. Reliable transportation is required but staff will not be driving their personal vehicle during work hours. Background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by non-profit agency.
