About The Position

Grow Developmental Disability Solutions is seeking a Direct Support Worker for Children and/or Adults with Developmental Disabilities. This role involves making a difference in someone's life by helping them live more independently and fulfilling lives. As a person-centered agency, we treat every individual with respect and dignity, creating plans around their specific goals. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) will work one-on-one with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/IDD), supporting their daily routines, community involvement, and personal goals in an engaging, respectful, and empowering manner. This is a meaningful role where your contributions truly matter each day.

Requirements

  • 18+ years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of caregiving or related experience
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Smartphone required
  • Must be able to successfully pass all state-required background checks and meet all ODDS employment eligibility requirements.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED (or willing to obtain)

  • Experience in a low demand environment

Responsibilities

  • Support daily routines (cooking, cleaning, personal care with the client)
  • Help clients get into the community and stay engaged
  • Follow care plans and goals
  • Communicate with families and your team
  • Complete notes and documentation
  • Ensure safety and well-being at all times
  • Support with household cleaning and chores, keeping clients on-task and helping them break down tasks
  • Support clients to get out into the community
  • Help clients understand everyday tasks and direct instructions
  • Engage in conversations on client's focus topics
  • Support clients with all ADLs
  • Take clients to the library or to lessons
  • Learn how to communicate with clients on a spelling board
  • Attend Summer camp with client
  • Work on expanding food choices, making friends, exploring the community, building emotional regulation skills, improving gross motor skills and increasing flexibility.
