About The Position
Indera is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide Community Habilitation in the Liverpool area to a very independent man who has an intellectual and physical disability. He is looking for a dedicated person to assist him with working on his goals, both at home and in community settings and to provide transportation, as needed. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting him to pursue his hobbies and interests, supporting his safety awareness and social skills and assisting him with his general independence. We are looking for individuals who are dependable, patient and enthusiastic.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Effective communication and organizational skills required.
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
- Reliable transportation to arrive at the job site at the scheduled time.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.
- HS diploma/GED are required.
- Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities a plus.
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
