About The Position

1:1 Part-Time Support Staff Needed – Inner city of Syracuse (DJ– MS). A 19-year-old male in the inner city of Syracuse is looking for a Direct Support Professional to assist him in learning skills for independent living and positive communication. He enjoys video games, scary movies, watching YouTube, and visiting the mall to eat and look into anime stores. The ideal candidate is required to have patience, as this person has a hard time with controlling outbursts at times. The ideal candidate should also be good at facilitating conversations when needed and willing to work out and able to assist him with the direction of services from time to time. This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services at the agency. Start time and hours are flexible, up to 20 hours a week.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community.
Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills.
New York State Driver's license.
Reliable transportation.
Proof of auto insurance.
Acceptable driving record.
Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.
Effective communication and organizational skills required.
Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.

Nice To Haves

No experience required but experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
