Direct Support Professional (Weekdays)
About The Position
COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES For the DEAF, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional. This is a Part-Time Regular position providing 1:1 support for 30 hours/week, which includes benefits. A Direct Support Professional is a supportive, hands-on person who assists Deaf Adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities. Responsibilities include providing 1:1 support (can be up to 1:4), assisting with evening routines such as personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, and transportation to medical appointments, activities, and job sites. Other responsibilities will be identified in the annual Person-Centered Plan (PCP) meeting.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid MD Driver's License with 2 points or less.
- Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Ability to provide voice, text, and/or videophone number on resume.
Nice To Haves
- Relevant experience is a plus.
- 1 year of Caregiving experience.
Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 support to Deaf Adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities.
- Assisting with evening routines including personal care.
- Preparing meals.
- Administering medication.
- Transporting individuals to medical appointments, activities, and job sites.
- Fulfilling other responsibilities as identified in the annual Person-Centered Plan (PCP) meeting.
