About The Position

BAYADA Home Health Care is hiring Direct Support Professionals to work one-on-one with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities in home and community settings in Gastonia, Denver, and Dallas, North Carolina. DSPs serve as companions and mentors, helping clients reach their full potential. Weekday afternoon and evening shifts are available, though schedules may change based on client needs. The role includes assisting clients with personal care and everyday tasks, accompanying them on errands and appointments, engaging in their hobbies, participating in community integration activities, and helping lift and reposition clients. Requirements

One year of experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities; training is available through the apprentice program for applicants without this experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care assistance, including dressing and grooming.
Accompany clients on errands and appointments.
Spend time with clients participating in their favorite hobbies and activities.
Assist with everyday tasks such as meal preparation.
Participate in community integration activities.
Help lift and reposition clients.
