Direct Support Professional - Supported Living/In Home
About The Position
Wall Residences provides high-quality community services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are currently seeking part-time, experienced Direct Support Professionals (DSP's) for Supported Living and In-Home Care services in the Fredericksburg, VA area. This role involves assisting individuals with domestic tasks, supporting personal care needs, providing transportation, advocacy for medical/dental appointments, and medication administration. Successful candidates are detail-oriented and able to keep accurate notes. Wall Residences employees are mandated reporters of abuse and neglect for individuals with disabilities. Requirements
- Part-time availability.
- Experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP).
- Active driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
- No more than 2 moving violations or accidents within past 3 years.
- No major violations within past 5 years.
- References and criminal background check free of barrier crimes.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with domestic tasks such as laundry, cleaning, meal planning, cooking, and organizing.
- Help individuals enrich their own lives through exploring volunteer opportunities.
- Support personal care needs.
- Provide transportation.
- Provide advocacy for medical/dental appointments.
- Assist with medication administration.
- Keep accurate notes to ensure continuity of quality care.
