About The Position

Arrowhead West is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Live-In Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting. This role is an opportunity to build meaningful relationships, create a safe and welcoming home environment, and positively impact the lives of the people you support every day. The position involves supporting individuals in community activities, teaching life skills, assisting with personal care, and collaborating with case managers and other staff. Employees reside in their private apartment and are off duty during designated non-working hours except in emergency situations.

Requirements

Minimum age 18 years
High school diploma or GED preferred
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Ability to pass required background checks
Ability to complete required training

Responsibilities

Support individuals in community activities: shopping, movies, ball games, library trips, hobbies, local events, and other meaningful outings.
Teach skills for a clean, safe home, including laundry, cooking, cleaning, and grocery routines.
Assist with personal care needs (bathing, grooming, mealtime) and promote healthy habits.
Provide support aligned with each person’s Person-Centered Support Plan (PCSP) and teach skills that increase independence.
Collaborate with Case Managers, direct care staff, and supervisors; participate in PCSP teams.
