About The Position
InReach is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work as an Independent Contractor for a male individual with developmental disabilities in the Charlotte area (28210). The role involves providing Community Living and Support Services for 21 hours per week, focusing on instruction and assistance in home living, facilitating community integration, helping the individual identify and acquire valued social roles, developing healthy social habits, dispensing medication, and transporting the individual to various activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma (or GED)
- Valid driver's license
- Successfully pass a drug screen and background check
Nice To Haves
- One to two years of experience with the I/DD population
Responsibilities
- Instruction and assistance in home living environments.
- Help individual identify and acquire valued social roles.
- Facilitate community integration.
- Help individual develop healthy social habits.
- Dispense medication and monitoring dosages.
- Transport and accompany individual to and from day programs, work sites, and community activities.
