Direct Support Professional - Independent Contractor (JG)
About The Position
InReach is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide companionship, care, and support to an adult male with developmental disabilities in the Charlotte area (28226). This role involves providing Community Networking and Supported Living Services for 29 hours per week. The position is an Independent Contractor role, requiring the individual to obtain a 1099 tax form and use a third-party vendor for direct deposits. Contractors are responsible for state-required training, Occupational Accident Insurance, and administrative fees for the Contract Management vendor.
Requirements
- High school diploma (or GED)
- Valid driver's license
- Successfully pass a drug screen and background check
Nice To Haves
- One to two years of experience with the I/DD population
Responsibilities
- Instruction and assistance in home living environments.
- Help individual identify and acquire valued social roles.
- Facilitate community integration.
- Help individual develop healthy social habits.
- Dispense medication and monitoring dosages.
- Transport and accompany individual to and from day programs, work sites, and community activities.
