Under limited supervision of the Direct Support Manager this position is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Direct Support Professional I and II's. Responsible for the supervisory functions of the Direct Support Professional I's and II's. Ensures that all documentation required for the consumers Individual Support Plan (ISP) have been completed and monitors the safety and care of consumers. Ensures Active Treatment for consumers in assigned buildings is implemented by staff. This entails monitorship programs developed by the Interdisciplinary (ID) Team. Monitors completion of behavior data sheets, ISP training programs, and GER (General Event Reports) to ensure all required documentation is entered into THERAP. Monitors Day Programs monthly (i.e. on/off campus). Responsible for reporting significant events and suspected abuse immediately per Agency and Office policy and procedures. Performs additional duties as assigned. Positions for this posting are located at Coastal Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of BHDD-OIDD located in Summerville, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In accordance with the State’s Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, employees may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster. This position is eligible for up to $3.50/hour shift differential for applicable shifts! Sign-on bonus for eligible candidates will be distributed after three, six, nine, and twelve months of successful continuous Full-Time employment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and one (1) year experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to comply with all required regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to be a team leader.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work with individuals who may be physically aggressive or medically fragile.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, which includes standing, walking, stooping, bending and pulling.
  • Medical screening – to include a drug screening.
  • Background record checks (to include fingerprinting).
  • South Carolina Department of Social Services’ Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry screening.
  • U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General “List of Excluded Individuals/Entities” screening.
  • South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Record check.
  • Review of transcripts verifying educational credentials.
  • Tuberculosis (TB) skin or blood testing must be completed prior to beginning employment.
  • Documentation of immunity or immunization against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, Varicella and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.

  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing ICF-IID, as well as directives relevant to an ICF.
