Direct Support Professional II
About The Position
Covenant Ability Network of Minnesota (CAN of MN) is hiring full-time Direct Support Professionals in the Hugo/White Bear Lakes, Minnesota area. CAN of MN is a faith-based nonprofit providing person-centered services to adults with a variety of intellectual disabilities. The organization works alongside those it serves to enrich their lives through activities such as camping trips, sporting events, and Bible studies. The role supports individuals with daily living and household needs, promotes a safe environment, and accompanies residents in community and recreational activities. Staff work 40 hours per week on the listed weekday and weekend schedules and periodically assist individuals during overnight shifts. Company vehicles are provided for transportation.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must pass a DHS background study.
- Experience working with individuals with high behaviors and behavior intervention techniques.
- Passion for serving others.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living skills, household tasks, personal hygiene, budgeting, and medication administration.
- Transport and accompany residents to community activities, recreation, and leisure activities.
- Provide and maintain a safe environment while implementing behavior management skills.
- Assist individuals periodically throughout the overnight shift.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to support the care of individuals.
