About The Position
Omega Day Centers is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professional to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at its Chantilly, Virginia location. The role helps individuals develop life skills, build confidence, explore interests, and increase independence in their communities. Relevant work or life experience supporting individuals with disabilities is encouraged; extensive DSP experience is not required. The DSP assists with daily activities, personal care, and life skills as needed; supports individual choices and personal goals; participates in recreational activities, community outings, and social events; and helps individuals discover interests, develop abilities, and celebrate achievements. The role also involves collaborating with families and support teams, following individualized service plans, promoting a safe and inclusive environment, and completing required documentation and updates.
Requirements
- Relevant work or life experience supporting individuals with disabilities.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with current auto insurance.
- Willingness and ability to travel within the community as required.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
- Ability to successfully complete required background checks and drug screening.
- Patience, attentiveness, reliability, and genuine interest in helping others succeed.
