About The Position
Indera is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work with a young boy, 14 years old, in the Port Byron, NY area. We are looking for a dedicated individual who is open-minded, energetic, respectful, and dedicated staff to engage in activities with him in the community. The DSP will assist him in navigating the community, help with independent living skills, encourage him to try new hobbies/activities, and help increase his physical fitness. Hours will vary, typically during after-school hours, with approximately 15 hours per week. This is a respite services position.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Effective communication and organizational skills required.
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
- Reliable transportation to arrive at the job site at the scheduled time.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
