About The Position

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a passionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join their team. This role involves empowering adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential group homes. The DSP will provide consistent care and support across multiple group homes, assisting residents with daily activities, employment support, and social engagement. The position requires the ability to transport residents in a company vehicle and ensures high-quality, person-centered support. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with varying shifts and requires the employee to stay on-site for the duration of their shift, with an 8-hour sleep break each night. The location is Waynesville, NC, and the compensation is $15.00/hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Basic housekeeping knowledge.
• Basic nutrition knowledge.
• Knowledge of safety protocols.
• Interpersonal skills.

• Dependability.
• Proficiency with EHR systems or technically savvy to learn.
• Reliable transportation.
• Current auto insurance.
