About The Position

Abilities Network is seeking full-time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for their Baltimore Metro region, which includes Baltimore City, Middle River, Essex, and Dundalk, Maryland. This role is ideal for individuals who have a desire to help others, enjoy community activities, and wish to grow with a company that has been recognized as a multiple year winner of the Baltimore Sun’s Top Workplace award. The starting pay is $18.00 per hour, which is non-negotiable. The average annual starting income, including the hourly rate, a $20.00 per pay auto allowance, and average mileage reimbursement, is approximately $46,900. As a DSP, you will be responsible for transporting individuals to various community activities, volunteer opportunities, job sites, and other events. A valid driver's license, car insurance, and reliable access to a personal vehicle are essential for this position as driving is a core function.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license.
Positive driving record.
Access to daily use of personal vehicle to travel within assigned region.
Minimum of $50,000 Automobile Liability Insurance.
Excellent understanding of time management.
Ability to develop solutions and build relationships using community resources.

Responsibilities

Transport individuals to community activities, volunteer opportunities, job sites, and other community events.
Assist individuals in working toward personal independence by supporting the learning of new skills and building a system of natural supports.
Deliver customized services tailored to each individual's preferences and personal goals.
Provide on-the-job coaching to assist individuals in becoming independent on the job.
Encourage the development of individual's interpersonal skills.
