About The Position

Quest, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) Lead for its Intermediate Care Facility. This role involves providing leadership to Direct Support Professionals, ensuring the implementation of services outlined in habilitation plans and daily schedules, and maintaining the overall quality of care, safety, and supervision for individuals in the homes. The DSP Lead will also be responsible for driving large capacity vehicles and assessing individual needs. This position requires mastering the skills and competencies of a Direct Support Professional 3, including providing personal care assistance, operating large capacity vehicles, implementing active treatment and training programs, safely lifting and transferring residents, ensuring safety during mealtimes, completing housekeeping duties, providing adequate supervision, reporting to work during inclement weather (including potential sheltering in place), ensuring adequate supplies, and overseeing daily documentation by staff.

Requirements

  • 21 years of age or older (required)
  • High School Diploma (required)
  • Valid FL Driver’s License with no major driving violations at all times (required)
  • 6 months of experience working with persons who have Developmental Disabilities or working in an intensive behavior, psychiatric, nursing home or childcare (required)

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to Direct Support Professionals on shift.
  • Responsible for implementation of services outlined in Habilitation Plan, IPP and daily schedule for all individuals in the homes.
  • Responsible for overall quality of care, safety and supervision of all individuals in the homes.
  • Responsible for driving large capacity vehicles to transport all individuals in the homes
  • Responsible to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, assess individual’s needs at all times
  • Master all skills and competencies of a Direct Support Professional 3:
  • Provide assistance with personal care for all residents as needed including, but not limited to, toileting, bathing, dressing and hygiene needs.
  • Operate large capacity vehicles (10-12 passenger vans and wheelchair busses).
  • Implement active treatment, training programs, competency checks, behavior plans/protocols and service goals including, but not limited to areas of self-help, daily living, social skills, leisure activities and community inclusion for all residents.
  • Safely lift, transfer and reposition all residents as outlined in daily schedules.
  • Ensure safety for residents who eat orally during mealtimes.
  • Complete housekeeping duties on a daily basis
  • Ensure adequate supervision of residents in the home. This may include staying past regularly scheduled hours until staff arrive for the next shift or back-up staffing is arranged.
  • Report to work during inclement weather to ensure adequate supervision and care of all individuals in the home. This may include sheltering in place during a hurricane.
  • Ensure that the home has adequate supplies accessible to all staff and residents.
  • Ensure daily documentation is completed by all staff members during each shift
