About The Position
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will utilize your caregiving and people skills to support individuals living with developmental disabilities in achieving their goals. This role offers the opportunity to make a difference in someone's life, such as accompanying them to the park. The position is located in a group home in Woodbridge, VA, and requires a female staff member for the specified shift.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental health challenges, or transferrable skills that relate to serving this population (such as experience in education, caregiving, health care, other human services or customer service).
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Ability to pass required trainings.
- A valid driver's license, minimum three-year acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Flexibility, positive attitude.
Responsibilities
- Support individuals living with developmental disabilities to achieve their goals.
- Accompany individuals to activities such as the park.
- Work in residential group homes, day programs, and in the community.
- Transport individuals using an agency-provided van.
