About The Position

Direct Support Associates provide support and guidance to people served as they learn and develop daily living skills and participate in life activities, helping them live as independently as possible. The role focuses on creating an environment where people can learn, grow, and discover; supporting individuals in identifying and achieving goals that matter to them; and ensuring their comfort, safety, and care needs are met. Associates also provide emotional support and assist with housekeeping, meal preparation, and laundry.

Requirements

A desire to make a positive difference in people's lives; no experience is needed, and training is provided.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid U.S. driver's license where applicable.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Strong time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while communicating honestly about timelines, challenges, and questions.
Physical ability to frequently stand, walk, and bend for extended periods, with occasional sitting, kneeling, climbing, stooping, crouching, squatting, and balancing.
Ability to reach constantly between knee and shoulder level and frequently below knee level and overhead.
Ability to lift independently up to 25 pounds occasionally, push or pull up to 40 pounds of force frequently, and safely transfer 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Help people identify and achieve goals that are important to them.
Monitor the comfort and safety of people served and ensure their medical, nutritional, and personal care needs are met.
Provide emotional support.
Assist with general housekeeping, meal preparation, and laundry duties.
