About The Position

Direct Support Professionals support and guide people served as they develop daily living skills and participate in life activities, helping them live as independently as possible. The role involves helping people pursue personally meaningful goals, monitoring their comfort and safety, and ensuring their medical, nutritional, and personal care needs are met. Associates also provide emotional support and assist with general housekeeping, meal preparation, and laundry. Requirements

A desire to make a positive difference in people's lives; no experience is needed, and thorough training is provided.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid U.S. driver's license where applicable.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Time management skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities while communicating honestly about timelines, challenges, and questions.
Physical ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, and reach; occasionally sit, kneel, climb, stoop, crouch, squat, and balance; reach constantly between knee and shoulder level and frequently below knee level and overhead; independently lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, push or pull up to 40 pounds of force frequently, and safely transfer 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Support the development of daily living skills and participation in life activities by creating an environment where people can learn and grow.
Help people identify and achieve the goals most important to them.
Monitor the comfort and safety of people served.
Ensure medical, nutritional, and personal care needs are met.
Provide emotional support.
Assist with general housekeeping, meal preparation, and laundry.
