About The Position
Island Home Care is a family-run home care business owned and operated by Chris and Brandi Rinaudo. The company provides compassionate care to help clients live their best lives and maintain independence in their homes. Caregivers work independently in clients’ homes and may support clients with daily living needs. No prior experience is required; training is provided. Employees can choose among different shifts and locations to fit their schedules.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Mobile cellular device.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
- Ability to pass state-required training requirements.
- Ability to climb one flight of stairs and enter homes that may not be handicap accessible.
- Ability to lift 10 pounds; some clients require physical mobility assistance up to 50 pounds.
- Commitment to health and safety standards.
- Good time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong ethics.
- Friendly, loving, compassionate, respectful, patient, and professional demeanor.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with meal preparation and/or eating.
- Help clients with grooming, bathing, and/or dressing.
- Assist with hygiene and mobility.
- Provide light housekeeping.
- Give medication reminders.
- Offer companionship and conversation.
- Assist with appointments and errands.
- Follow each client’s individual plan of care.
- Adhere to health and safety standards.
