The Oregon Department of Human Services’ Stabilization and Crisis Unit (SACU) provides 24-hour residential care to Oregonians with intellectual and developmental disabilities, often with co-occurring mental health diagnoses, whose support needs exceed those offered by other community-based residential programs. SACU helps individuals safely transition back to their home communities and supports access to health and medical care, psychological services, emotional and behavioral support, education, life-skills training, recreation, and community integration. SACU operates 17 residential group homes along the I-5 corridor from Portland to Eugene. The Health Crisis Technician provides direct care in a residential medical group home and supports individuals’ health, safety, daily living, and community participation. The position is temporary and full-time, expected to last up to six months, and based in Portland. Staff must be flexible to work shifts and weekends according to business needs, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and relief or other varied shifts. If offered the position, the employee will attend three weeks of paid, in-person training in Salem and complete certifications in First Aid/CPR, the Oregon Intervention System, and medication administration.
