About The Position

Direct Care Shift Supervisor Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour, based on experience Schedule: Full-Time | Wednesday-Saturday | 7:00am - 3:00pm Location: Needville, TX (On-Site) Are you a compassionate leader who is passionate about mental health and helping young adults build successful, independent lives? OPI Houston is seeking a Behavioral Health Residential Shift Supervisor to lead our Direct Support Mentor team within our Residential Treatment Program in Needville, TX. In this role, you'll help create a safe, structured, and supportive environment for young adults ages 18-28 who are working through trauma, developing life skills, and building a foundation for long-term success. You'll provide leadership and guidance to staff while playing an active role in supporting clients' daily growth and progress. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in behavioral health, residential treatment, direct care, or human services who enjoys mentoring others and wants to make a tangible difference every day.

Requirements

  • Age: Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum one year of leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience required.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screening and federal and state background checks in accordance with Texas law.
  • Comfortable with physically active work, including standing, walking, and supporting team-based safety interventions (including therapeutic holds when necessary).

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong judgment, professionalism, quick decision-making skills, the ability to remain calm in challenging situations, and a growth mindset aligned with Embark's core values.
  • Experience working with young adults or in behavioral health, residential treatment, direct care, human services, or similar settings preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred; training provided if needed.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and support Direct Support Mentors during assigned shifts.
  • Train new staff, reinforce best practices, and contribute to team development.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment for young adult clients.
  • Respond to client needs, concerns, and crisis situations while modeling professional boundaries.
  • Oversee daily shift operations, including staffing coverage, scheduling communication, and program activities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of documentation, progress notes, incident reports, and shift logs.
  • Communicate significant client, staffing, and operational updates to leadership and the treatment team.
