About The Position
University Home Care Inc is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Aid to join our team in White Lake, MI. In this role, you will provide essential support to clients, assisting with daily living activities to promote their independence and enhance their quality of life.
Requirements
- Ability to follow directions and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable personality.
- Ability to pass background checks.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in caregiving or a related field is an asset, but NOT required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide mobility assistance, including transferring and positioning clients safely.
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for clients.
- Monitor client health and report any changes or concerns to the supervisory staff.
- Assist with medication reminders in accordance with company policies.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Document care activities and communicate effectively with the care team and family members.
