Focuses on coordination of education, training, and competency assessment for the clinical staff; regulatory compliance; patient education; safety organizational operations; and performance improvement activities. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, nursing or related field.
  • Bachelor's Degree Science of Nursing (BSN) required for all Ochsner Magnet Facilities.
  • 5 years of related experience.
  • Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Knowledge of nursing practice, regulatory requirements, and Nursing Practice Act.
  • Clinical skills and ability to perform nursing responsibilities.
  • Ability to demonstrate a professional attitude and relate to executive management.
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good leadership, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills and ability to demonstrate good judgement in performing duties.

  • Certification in clinical specialty area.

Responsibilities

  • Develops processes that ensure overall safety of patients and employees.
  • Strives to continuously improve all aspects of the business operation through quality improvement initiatives.
  • Monitors the practice of nursing and ensures safe nursing practice.
  • Monitors and oversees clinical and quality indicators.
  • Develops and implements strategies to drive engagement while also ensuring accountability.
  • Determines appropriate staffing levels and interviews, hires, and conducts performance reviews of employees as necessary.
  • Works with healthcare providers, nursing staff, and management staff to ensure training issues are addressed for new and existing services provided.
  • Manages monthly financial statements for fluctuation in variable expenses, identifies trends and makes recommendations.
  • Prepares for reviews and approval of preliminary capital and human resources budgets.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
