About The Position

The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.

Requirements

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Engineering degree or foreign equivalent in Robotics, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or a related field and 10+ years of experience in Engineering.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience; or 12 years with a Master’s degree; or 8 years with a PhD.
  • 8+ years of management experience, including 5+ years leading Engineering teams to design/build Robotic/Automation related products or systems.
  • 3+ years of experience working in the semiconductor industry on global programs or projects.
  • 3+ years of experience working with technology companies for new product development
  • Strong background in physical AI, robotics, automation, and algorithm development.
  • Ability to work onsite in a robotics lab environment and lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • International travel required up to 10%.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, OpenCV, and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch a major benefit
  • Experience with MCAD tools (e.g., Siemens NX, Creo, SolidWorks).

Responsibilities

  • Hardware Development: Directs, leads, and manages the technical activities of a hardware development function for electronic design, mechanical design and/or hardware reliability.
  • Software Development: Directs, leads, and manages the technical activities of a software development function for software systems, applications and/or software quality assurance.
  • Systems Design: Directs, leads, and manages the technical activities of an integrated hardware/software systems design function.
  • Interface with Global Product Engineering, Executive Technology Leadership, Universities and Lam Capital to identify and develop technology building blocks in support of Dextro N+2 Product roadmaps.
  • Design, lead, and manage Dextro™ R&D to bring key technology to a functional technology readiness level (5) at Lam.
  • Works closely with Executive leadership to report on the state-of-the-art, current capabilities, availability, projected time-to-market and progress to plan on the Dextro technology development roadmap.
  • Develop and manage an automated maintenance technology pathfinding roadmap, timelines, resource allocations, dependencies, and communicate status to executive stakeholders.
  • Identify development opportunities & risks and mitigation strategies to ensure successful technology development conversion to a tangible Mechatronics “Toolbox”.
  • Utilize technology management tools to track progress, manage costs, and ensure strategies are up to date.
  • Organize, lead, and facilitate both direct reports and cross-functional teams to support roadmap requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with executive leadership and functional partners.
  • Present complex information clearly and concisely to support decision-making.
  • Build trusted relationships to drive alignment and execution.
  • Lead, coach and develop direct reports and matrixed team; set clear goals and performance expectations.
  • Foster collaboration, inclusion, and shared ownership across a highly matrixed organization.
  • Build organizational capabilities, effectiveness and bench strength through organizational development strategies.
  • Develop and maintain metrics that support the successful delivery of technology roadmap items, identify key indicators for future improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and automation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Utilize data and statistical techniques to collect, analyze, and interpret data to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
